In July 2020, Ecohouse Solar installed a 65 KW solar electric system on the new Education Center at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Ecohouse is working with Moody Nolan Architects , Miles McClellan Construction and McNaughten-McKay Electric on this clean energy project.

The Columbus Zoo is standing behind its commitment to sustainability, and working to reduce its carbon footprint.  This new building is a demonstration of that commitment.   The Education Center will operate on solar power, produced by 164 solar panels on the roof of the building.

Ecohouse Solar is proud to be selected as the commercial solar contractor to design and install this high quality solar electric system that will operate for the next 30 to 40 years. The Education Center building should be completed and open for business by October, 2020. Please visit the Zoo and check it out for yourself. Visitors to the Zoo can see an electronic display about the solar system, inside the Education Center, next to the main entrance to the Zoo. The display shows how much solar energy is being produced each day, and also how much CO2 is being offset by the solar panels.

Ecohouse can design and install a high quality solar electric system for you as well. Please contact us for a free estimate.  www.ecohousesolar.com
